I
have been writing since I was a small child. When I began reading, that is where my love for
writing began. However, I specifically wrote non-fiction short
stories. I love taking words and manipulating them and
creating new stories.
It was
this love of "wordsmithing" that led me to major in English when
I was an undergraduate in college. I feel that it is a
combination of my love of words and my formal training that
makes my writings so special.
For years I
have been writing and continue to simultaneously write poetry

Allow me to introduce you to Piper Bates and her best friend
Shay Devereaux. You’re going to fall in love with these two
ladies. They are the stars of Lies, Art, and Chocolate:
Texas Style by author Kimberly Burgess-Taylor.
“What?” you may ask, “Aren’t we talking about a book here,
not a movie?”
You would be right in the immediate sense, it is a book. But
I am here to tell you that Piper and Shay ‘s personae are much
larger spirited than mere characters in a book. They are truly
destined to be incandescent stars in Texas literature. Both are
bold, strong, and beautiful. These ladies are what I would call
Texas Modern. They are single, but looking to make that
ultimate life-long connection, on their own terms.
And this is what fascinates and intrigues me about Lies,
Art, and Chocolate: Texas Style. I particularly love the
way Kimberly Burgess-Taylor weaves modern day Texas culture and
icons of that culture into her narrative. As a native Texas,
raised on Saturday cowboy matinees and the whole culture of
machismo, so loved by Hollywood writers; I am here to tell you
that this book is a true representation of modern day Texas
culture.
Make no mistake about it, Kimberly Burgess-Taylor is the real
deal. Her Texas and Piper and Shay’s Texas is also the real
deal. It’s a treat you’ll laugh with, cry with, and thrill
with. But most of all, you will enjoy it. Go on, now, run
down to your local chocolatier, cause you’re going to
want to have a nice box of chocolate by your side while you read
Lies, Art and Chocolate: Texas Style.

love with all who would open their hearts and listen. Take your time, browse through the site,
and feel free to stop and email me with words of encouragement and

Babes in Christ
"Kimberly Taylor is an up and coming writing
star. The passion of her work comes through on every page of her
new book, Babes In Christ: A Handbook for Motivational
Enlightenment. She is a loving, caring individual who walks
what she talks. If you are searching for better or new ways to
make life work for you, use Babes in Christ as a
spiritual roadmap and Kim Taylor as your guide. We all need
inspiration and a friend to hold our hand as we follow our
spiritual path. Ms. Taylor has faced her share of adversity in
life. Babes in Christ comes out of those experiences and
offers a plan for finding the light that Christ offers. Buy
this book and keep it close. You’ll find comfort and inspiration
on every page".

My sincerest
gratitude to all of you who attended my first book release in
2007! It was a
success because God ordained it to be so and because you blessed
me with your presence and support! Many thanks to Mitchie's Gallery for making the beautiful surroundings
available. God is good! It turns out that I was the best selling
author that the store had ever had for a first signing due to
the volume of attendees.

In
October 2007, God blessed me to found the Manor Literacy and
Cultural Initiative (MLCI) and we put on the First Annual Manor Cultural Arts Festival.
From that blessing, we were able to contribute art to the City
of Manor, books to the Manor Library, and donate school supplies
and books to Austin area schools and universities.
